HSBC has launched its new ecommerce digital payment platform, Omni Collect, in the UAE, in collaboration with Saudi fintech company Geidea. The platform, accessible via HSBCnet, aims to simplify digital payment collection for corporate customers across multiple channels, including credit and debit cards and e-wallets such as Apple Pay and Samsung Pay.
HSBC and Geidea formalised their partnership at a recent signing ceremony attended by Geidea Founder Abdullah Al Othman and HSBC Bank Middle East’s CEO of UAE, Mohamed Al Marzooqi. The collaboration includes integrating a merchant acquiring facility into Omni Collect, allowing HSBC’s corporate clients to access advanced card receivables solutions and enhance their payment collection data analysis.
Kyle Boag, HSBC’s Regional Head of Global Payment Solutions for the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey (MENAT), emphasised the growing trend of cashless transactions in the UAE and the increasing popularity of online shopping and digital payments. He stated that Omni Collect is designed to help businesses capitalise on this growth by enabling faster payment collections and providing insights into customer payment behaviours to support informed decision-making.
Omni Collect uses APIs to integrate directly with clients’ ecommerce and accounting systems, allowing real-time data flow. This integration enables clients to monitor transactions online, consolidate reporting across different payment methods, and maintain a unified view of daily business transactions.
Sailesh Malhotra, General Manager at Geidea, highlighted the importance of making payments and commerce technology accessible and scalable. He noted that the partnership with HSBC aligns with Geidea’s mission and the licence granted by the UAE Central Bank enhances their ability to offer diverse merchant services.
Kyle Boag also mentioned that the demand for integrated payment solutions is rising across various sectors, including retail, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and logistics. Omni Collect is part of HSBC’s broader strategy to invest in the UAE market and meet the digital needs of its customers.
In addition to the UAE, Omni Collect is available in the UK, Australia, India, mainland China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
