According to Swiss Re – Natural Catastrophes caused an estimated USD 115 billion of insured losses in 2022, coming in well above the 10-year average of USD 81 billion.
Statistics like this emphasize the need for Insurance Claims organizations to be accurate, resilient and faultless in prediction, preparation and response. The industry is very aware that the next NatCat event is on the horizon; it’s vital for the industry to be in a position of confidence when thinking about delivering the expected levels of service in critical moments.
Next week – Tuesday, March 21, 2023 (11am EST) – claims leaders from USAA, Plymouth Rock and Swiss Re will join a 1-hour interactive webinar session, hosted virtually by Reuters Events Insurance to allow claims leaders across North America to learn, benchmark and ask questions.

Carriers must balance the need for rapid claims processing against the lack of access to impacted areas and limited availability of adjusting resources. Technology must be utilized, with AI and aerial imagery, facilitating better triaging clarity, effective response and the development of robust mobilization plans.
During the discussion, the panel will tackle all things essential in planning, analyzing and responding to Natural Catastrophe claims. Getting this correct has the potential to deliver a number of tangible benefits, from better organizational resilience and faster claim processing to reduced cycle times and higher customer satisfaction.
The webinar is produced in conjunction with Reuters Events: Connected Claims USA 2023. The flagship event will take place Sept 26-27, at the Austin Convention Center, Austin, Texas. For more information, email alexander.bird@thomsonreuters.com
