Cambodian lender ACLEDA Bank has collaborated with JCB International , the international subsidiary of Japanese card issuer JCB, to introduce a co-branded debit card in Cambodia.
With the new ACLEDA JCB Debit Card, users can gain access to nearly 30 million merchants that are part of the JCB acceptance network.
JCB International president and COO Kimihisa Imada said: “I am sure that ACLEDA Bank and JCB will have many opportunities to expand business in Cambodia, which has high potential for the future as the national economy continues to grow.”
Furthermore, the cardholders can avail the diverse range of services offered by JCB. These include privileges and discounts on dining and shops globally.
ACLEDA Bank president and group managing director In Channy said: “This agreement will enable ACLEDA JCB Debit Card holders to broadly expand their payment coverage via cash advance locations and over 30 million JCB merchants around the world.
“The most important point is that ACLEDA ATM card holders can upgrade their status with this ACLEDA Bank and JCB co-branding card. It facilitates not only domestic payment on the ACLEDA Bank network but also global payment from anywhere and anytime.”
ACLEDA Bank managed $5.7bn in assets as at 31 December 2018. The lender currently has a client base of 2.5 million.
